Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Eatona mobile application ("App"), operated by Teknikforce. By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. By using Eatona, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent.
Use of the app
You agree to use Eatona only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use the App to transmit harmful, offensive, or unlawful content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense any part of the App or its content
- Use the App in any manner that could damage or impair its functionality
Not medical advice
Important
Eatona provides nutritional estimates and AI-generated food analysis for informational purposes only. Nothing in the App constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Calorie and macro estimates produced by the AI may not be perfectly accurate. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional or registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you have a medical condition.
AI-generated content
The App uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI GPT-4o) to analyse food images and provide nutritional information. AI-generated results are estimates and may contain errors. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose of AI-generated content. You use AI analysis at your own discretion and risk.
Intellectual property
All content in the App — including the design, text, graphics, logos, and software — is the property of Teknikforce or its licensors, protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal purposes only.
Third-party services
The App integrates with third-party services including OpenAI and Open Food Facts. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party services.
Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Teknikforce and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to health outcomes, data loss, or personal injury — arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
Changes to terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
